Vacuum coffee makers, like this Hario Technica 3 require a bit of experimentation, but once you have the hang of the process and tweaked your recipe, the fine grained control on temperature and brew time will enable you to make some truly unique cups of coffee.
The very first coffee-related product released commercially by Hario, back in 1948, was actually a coffee siphon. In the years since then we have refined our designs into the current selection of siphons, which allow you brew your favourite coffee, and look great in your home as well.

How it Works
- Pressure is created when the top chamber is heated. Pressure pushes the hot water into the top, which is at an ideal temperature for brewing. Coffee is then fully immersed in the top chamber, and when heat is removed, a vacuum is created below, which quickly filters the coffee through a cloth. The vacuum pressure and cloth filtration allows for the use of a finer grind, while still getting the benefit of full immersion
